MissyBoling
I have a new ibex finger (luthier) plane that seems to work beautifully, but I'm wondering if Bill or anyone else has any tips for how to fine tune the depth of the cut it makes other than trial and error. Wm. R. Robertson
Trail and error is about the best way..... One thing I do is set the plane on something a little soft, a few sheets of paper, a very thin or stiff piece of leather.... Almost tighten the blade holding mechanism..... Then push the blade down a little and lock into place. I often keep a few planes on my bench each adjusted to a different depth of cut.Hope that helps. MissyBoling
Thanks, Bill. A good excuse to buy more planes.
