Designed and stitched by Melissa Boling on 48 ct silk gauze. This is the Dice (Dyce) Head Lighthouse located in Castine, ME, and the design was adapted from several vintage postcards of the lighthouse. The frame was also handmade by Melissa Boling of danta wood and ebony. Danta is a good wood to use to replicate mahogany in miniature. The frame is a close adaptation of an original made by John Hall in the Greene and Greene style for the Gamble House.
