bonni.b
The Morven Museum and Garden in Princeton NJ currently has an exhibit of samplers made by NJ girls from 1729 through the 1860's, which runs through March 29, 2015. Interesting study for those looking for inspiration from full size samplers in the design of their miniatures. The museum website doesn't show a lot of them, (click on the lecture links for some closeups) but this article from the Times has a few. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/04/nyregion/new-jersey-schoolgirl-samplers-like-a-stitch-out-of-time.html?emc=edit_ur_20150104&nl=nyregion&nlid=12304112&_r=0 If anyone can get to see this exhibit, please report on it here on the Forum, we'd love to see.
