1/4" Crochet fork for Maltese Crochet or Hairpin Lace

I got the most wonderful 1/4 width Boye Crochet fork Sunday at a local Estate Sale... does anyone have any knowledge of what I can make with Hairpin lace in miniature?  I remember as a child that we used to make life size afghans from hairpin lace, but I am wondering what can be accomplished with a 1/4" width.  I paid $10 for a stash of knitting needles, set of crochet hooks in a zippered case, hair pin lace tools in multiple sizes and tatting shuttles... it was a good auction.

Last night I found my knitting, I am pleased, I can still knit and purl in life size, so finger memory is still working in life size.
